I have a question about…
My Co-Pay / Deposit
What does the initial $50 charge on my bill represent?
A $50 deposit is required for each appointment. This is applied towards your appointment costs, including co-pay or service charges. If your insurance’s specialist co-pay exceeds this amount, your balance is charged accordingly to your card on file.
If your co-pay is less than $50, we will credit your account. This credit may be used toward future co-payments, outstanding balances, exclusive skincare products, or any of our luxurious treatments and services including our coveted cosmetic enhancements and luxury medical grade facials. Upon email request this difference can be refunded to the original method of payment, less the 3% credit card processing fee. Please notes all refunds are processed after your insurance carrier has submitted their payment which can take 4-8 weeks.
Why was I charged twice for my co-pay?
Each visit requires a $50 deposit which is applied towards your co-pay or other service charges. If you see two charges of $50 close together, it is possible one is a deposit for a future appointment. If you did not schedule another appointment, this may be an error, and we encourage you to submit a billing inquiry below.
My Deductible
What is an insurance deductible?
An insurance deductible is the amount you must pay out of pocket before your insurance starts covering your medical expenses.
How do deductibles work?
If your deductible is $1,000, you must pay that amount before your insurance begins to contribute. If your deductible has not yet been met you will be responsible for covering the visit. For dermatology visits the cost is $175 per appointment.
Does my deductible reset?
Yes, each year, starting on January 1st, your insurance deductible resets.
How do I find out my deductible amount?
Every plan is different, the best way to confirm your deductible amount is to call your insurance company directly.
Additional Charges
Why am I seeing multiple charges on my account for a single appointment?
If you see multiple charges, they might include:
- The $50 deposit: This is applied towards your co-pay or billed services.
- Remaining balance on co-pay: If your specialist copay is above $50, the additional amount is charged.
For example, if your specialist copay is $75, you will see an additional $25 charge. - Deductible charges: If your insurance plan includes a deductible that hasn’t been met, you may see charges up to $175 depending on the services provided. A deductible is the amount you must pay out-of-pocket for healthcare services before your insurance begins to cover the costs.
Refunds / Reimbursement
How long does it take for a refund / reimbursement to be processed?
Insurance companies usually complete their payments within 4-8 weeks after claims are filed. Once we receive their payment, any overpayment, less the 3% credit card processing fee, will be refunded back to your account. This process takes our system 5-10 days to post to your account. We appreciate your understanding as these timelines are dictated by the insurance processing protocols.
